Jennifer H. Burnett

Jennifer, a native of Southern Virginia, came to Clement Wheatley in 2012 from the law firm of Womble Carlyle Sandridge & Rice (now Womble Bond Dickinson) in Greensboro, North Carolina. Her practice focuses primarily on business law, business and commercial transactions and commercial real estate. She also advises and assists a diverse client base on a wide range of matters, including general business law, contract drafting and negotiation, entity formation and governance, capital raising, commercial loans, credit facilities and secured lending/borrowing, mergers, acquisitions and divestitures, and intellectual property protection.

She graduated magna cum laude in 1994 from Meredith College, and earned her law degree from the Wake Forest University School of Law in 2008, where she was named a member of the Order of Barristers. Prior to attending law school, Jennifer spent 10 years working as a corporate and securities paralegal in both in-house and large law firm settings. She is licensed to practice law in both North Carolina (admitted 2008) and Virginia (admitted 2012).

Jennifer currently serves on the Board of Trustees of the Virginia Museum of Natural History. She lives in South Boston, Virginia with her husband, Jay, and is active in both her church and her community.
